Approaching God One Thought At A Time

Religion today is not transforming people; rather it is being transformed by the people. It is not raising the moral level of society, it is descending to society's own level, and congratulating itself that it has scored a victory because society is smiling accepting its surrender. - A. W. Tozer

Modern Christianity

Hundreds of millions living in
First World Nations today practice one of many forms of Christianity. Most acknowledge Jesus as the only begotten Son of God. A percentage of these are willing to adjust portions of their lives to adhere to some of the Bible's teachings.

Tragically, fewer and fewer invest the time
studying Scripture to the point of understanding the nature of God's requirements of those who call themselves Christians. Rather than being alarmed by such a trend, much of the modern Church is watering down the Scripture and the true faith, gradually transforming Christianity into a worldly hybrid that might be called Churchianity.

From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who had been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.

- Luke 12:48 NIV

We have much for which to give thanks. Compared to our 1st century counterparts, as well as a myriad of generations before and after, modern culture enjoys ten times the wealth, ten times the comfort and ten times the knowledge of our predecessors. That’s a thousand times the blessing. And according to Christ, a thousand times the responsibility.

This goes double for modern Christians, who’ve been given the fullness of the
Holy Spirit and the complete cannon of Scripture, not to mention a wealth of accomplishments and spiritual commentary provided by 2,000 years of church history. Most of which is instantaneously available in innumerable forms through apps and on the net. Never before has a generation been entrusted with so much. And thus all the more accountable.

Down through the centuries Christendom has done well. With nearly 2.5 billion followers, it’s the world’s leading religion in several respects. Foundational to western civilization, many if not most of humanity’s greatest advances arose within its sphere of influence. Its messages of
love and mercy, forgiveness and grace have changed the world.

Recently, however, this trend has been reversed. It’s a changing world that’s influencing modern Christianity. Well intentioned grabs for relevancy, during a time of unprecedented societal transformation, is devolving Christianity into
Churchianity. Many welcome the postmodern model and/or emerging church in its willingness to embrace a variety of doctrinal and lifestyle choices. Others suspect such advances are simply the latest form of worldly encroachment attempting to dilute genuine faith.

Thankfully the
Bible's filled with advice and encouragement. Within it's wonderful pages one can find Divine directives on how best to live our lives. Scripture's thousands of commands and principles offer direction and purpose "making wise the simple.” God's Word is so insightful that even our modern generation, beset by unprecedented temptation, can find guidance that we might “have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” To those willing to love God and further His Kingdom, the Bible extends well over a thousand promises of blessings and assistance. From reaping the rewards of righteousness to experiencing the miraculous, Scripture offers great hope as to the love and faithfulness of God. Both in this life and throughout eternity.

Free Conditional Gifts

The Bible's also a book of warnings, containing
over a thousand "ifs" frequently corresponding with conditions necessary to experience "the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.” Not to mention escaping eternal damnation. Yet, a shrinking percentage of modern believers seem willing to admit the obvious. That from salvation by grace, to being filled with the Holy Spirit, God's free gifts are conditional.

The following exemplifies the conditionality of even a free gift. I was once the administrator for a Christian drug rehabilitation ministry prison pre-release program housing nearly 40 men. Appreciating the ministry, a major grocery retailer in town annually donated several thousand dollars worth of groceries. Was this a free gift? Of course. The cost was zero. Was the gift conditional? Of course. Just a few of the conditions included the following:

  • We had developed a ministry the chain was interested in assisting.

  • We had to pick up the groceries.

  • We had to do so during regular business hours.

  • We had to provide them with a tax donation receipt.

  • We had to use the donation in the manner in which it was intended.
While the donation was free, it clearly was not unconditional. Some may continue to argue against the obvious fact all gifts, free or not, are conditional. For example, Jesus declared God "causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.” And what of the air we breath? These free gifts from a loving Intelligent Designer seem to be without condition. While these are indeed free and vital gifts, all too often under appreciated, even they are conditional. Our universe and galaxy, solar system and planet abound with fine tuned conditions important to us all. Obviously we did nothing to create or merit these circumstances. Nevertheless we must meet certain criteria if we are to avail ourselves of even such universal gifts as sunlight and oxygen.  Some of these include:

  • Not living where sunlight is absent. Such as in the recesses of cave or in the depths of the sea.

  • Opening one's eyes. Not covering them with blinders. Both unfortunate Scriptural metaphors.

  • Not poking one’s eyes out.

  • Not committing suicide. Of which there are over 44,000 annually in just the US.

  • Protecting one's health from unnecessary harm.  Example: smoking often causes emphysema requiring continual oxygen supplement.

  • Exposure to danger or death. War, gang violence, criminal activities, extreme sports etc. can cause comas or death, limiting or even ending the ability to see or breath.
The New Testament Book of James is one of many repeatedly dealing with this theme. His epistle largely concerns itself with encouraging believers to rightly distinguish between Churchianity and Christianity. James is clear there is a conditional difference between living and dead faith. The faith of God's people must exceed that of demons, who not only believe that Jesus is the Son of God, but do so to the point of trembling.

Like all the Bible's authors, James, Jesus’ half brother contends that only belief demonstrated by right actions constitutes living faith:

  • "Don't fool yourself into thinking that you are a listener when you are anything but, letting the Word go in one ear and out the other. Act on what you hear! Those who hear and don't act are like those who glance in the mirror, walk away, and two minutes later have no idea who they are, what they look like. But whoever catches a glimpse of the revealed counsel of God—the free life!—even out of the corner of his eye, and sticks with it, is no distracted scatterbrain but a man or woman of action. That person will find delight and affirmation in the action Anyone who sets himself up as "religious" by talking a good game is self-deceived. This kind of religion is hot air and only hot air. Real religion, the kind that passes muster before God the Father, is this: Reach out to the homeless and loveless in their plight, and guard against corruption from the godless world." James 1:22-27 The Message

  • "So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless. Now someone may argue, 'Some people have faith; others have good deeds.' But I say, 'How can you show me your faith if you don’t have good deeds? I will show you my faith by my good deeds.' You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror. How foolish! Can’t you see that faith without good deeds is useless?" James 2:17-20 New Living Translation

  • “Don’t you remember our ancestor Abraham was shown to be right with God by his actions when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? You see, his faith and his actions worked together. His actions made his faith complete. And so it happened just as the Scriptures say: 'Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.' He was even called the friend of God. So you see, we are shown to be right with God by what we do, not by faith alone. Rahab the prostitute is another example. She was shown to be right with God by her actions when she hid those messengers and sent them safely away by a different road. Just as the body is dead without breath, so also faith is dead without good works." James 2:21-26 New Living Translation
Jesus repeatedly emphasizes the importance of our beliefs leading to holy lifestyles and acts of service. So much so, He identifies the Church as "the light of the world." He calls us to be a "city set on a hill" shinning all the brighter in the gathering darkness. Christ declares Christians are the salt of the Earth, strictly warning the Church against loosing its savor: "But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.” According to the Gospel, Christians are all the salt and light society gets. If the world's rotting and filled with darkness, we only need to look in the mirror to explain why.

Churchianity vs. Christianity

There are many indicators that the First World has entered a post Christian era. Sadly, Churchianity's chosen to follow the secular world's lead, rather than lead the world to Christ. Tempted by prosperity and pleasure, statistically there’s little difference between believers and our counterparts. From sexual promiscuity and abortion, divorce to pornography, our reflection is far more similar than many care to admit. When it comes to more subtle sins or doubtful habits, we are virtually twins.

For the most part, even those with better beliefs and lifestyles have done little to curtail such negative spiritual cloning within the faith community and beyond. On our watch, the virtue of society and Churchianity has been inverted. Today upwards of seventy percent of couples live together before marriage, with many marriages ending in divorce. Both inside and outside the church, the morality of modern society continues to decay.

Sadly the vast majority of
modern Christians show little or no interest in the rigors of costly discipleship. It’s up to Prophetic Christians to recognize our desperate need for individual and corporate renewal and revival. If not reformation. Such men and women understand that realistic hope begins with honesty enough to admit the true extent of our failure to meet the Bible’s guidelines for benefiting from God’s supply. They also daily confess doubtful habits and/or besetting sins short-circuiting their work and prayers to more fully experience the power of God.

The following graphic emphasizes that knowingly or not, all who have heard the gospel and claims of Christ are somewhere to found on the continuum from inappropriate to appropriate response:

Biblical Christianity is under assault on several fronts. One serious challenge has arisen from redefining what's reasonable. Much of academia has relegated belief in a Divine Being to mythical status, when proving the existence of God takes little more than a few seconds of simple math. Ironically, during the most enlightened age in human history, mountains of credible scientific evidence in support of the Bible is being overlooked or wrongly discredited.

An equally daunting challenge to Biblical Christianity are many of
Churchianity's modern doctrines. Among them has been the downgrading of the concept of "church" from a verb to a noun. While at the same time conveniently redefining saving faith as merely mental assent, rather than godly living. Lowering Scriptural standards has resulted in hundreds of millions of modern Christians who are apathetic at best. Serious Bible study is evaporating, leaving the average Christian unable to quote ten verses in a row, much less interpret them accurately. Regular and lengthy prayer is passé. Modern Church attenders stop and pray only a few minutes a day, with perhaps one in a hundred or less attending a serious weekly prayer meeting. The security of seeking and serving God has been replaced by risky worldliness, and if not too inconvenient, a weekly intermission for church. Sound study of God's Word's been exchanged for sentimentality. Worship for choruses.  Godly fear for feeling good.

Too few today wrestle with the ultimate question “
What must I do to be saved? It's a crucial question most choose to leave in the hands of professionals. But is this wisdom or foolishness? Is the decision to entrust our eternal wellbeing to the clergy based more on well founded faith in clerics or spiritual apathy on our part? Is it prudence or presumption to do so without seriously investigating the validity of each religion or denomination's claims? Why do hundreds of millions of believers fail to research the blatant disagreements between the best trained among us?

Through godly living the Bible commands Christians to
be the Church. Everyday and everywhere. The idea that it's enough to get together for an hour or two a week to sing and hear about serving Christ is a modern construct. Biblically, God's less interested in church services than in our rendering reasonable service in light of the overwhelming privilege and responsibility inherent in calling ourselves Christians. Judging by the Holy Spirit's pleading through the Apostle Paul, the only kind of worship God accepts are transformed lifestyles in sharp contrast with worldly behavior:

  • "And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect." Romans 12:1-2 New Living Translation
The vital theme of our responsibility of seeking God to the point of transformed lives is developed by thousands of Scriptures. In his second epistle, the Apostle Peter reinforces this message by stressing the importance of seven essential, yet rarely realized additions to faith:

  • "By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires. In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Add to your faith a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone. The more you grow like this, the more productive and useful you will be in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But those who fail to develop in this way are shortsighted or blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their old sins. So, dear brothers and sisters, work hard to prove that you really are among those God has called and chosen. Do these things, and you will never fall away. Then God will give you a grand entrance into the eternal Kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." 2 Peter 1:3-11 New Living Translation - Emphases QC’s
The author of Hebrews says it this way, "Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." Even when God appears silent and distant, it falls to believers to approach Him, crying out for the Spirit’s power and presence, provision and protection until He answers prayer, rends the heavens and brings revival.

Spirit And Truth

Jesus declared, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life.” According to reliable sources the word "Christian" originally denoted an extreme adherence to all New Testament teachings, as well as the lifestyle exemplified by Christ and His apostles. Wikipedia's etymology of the word accurately reflects prevailing beliefs:

  • Etymology: The word comes from Greek Χριστιανός (christianos) which being translated means "follower of Christ." It comes from Χριστός (christos) meaning "the anointed one",[3] with an adjectival ending borrowed from Latin to denote adhering to, or even belonging to, as in slave ownership.[4] In the (Greek) Septuagint version of the Hebrew Bible, christos was used to translate the Hebrew מָשִׁיחַ (Mašía, messiah), meaning "[one who is] anointed.” - Emphasis QC’s
In modern times much has changed, but God's standards for Christians remains the same. Given the close association with "Christ" or the Anointed One, from God's point of view it's no small thing to identify oneself as a Christian. Sadly the term has lost much of it's sanctity today. All the more reason why, before distinguishing ourselves with such an honorary title, we do well to reflected on Scripture's admonitions to count the cost of doing so.

Jesus explained that God the Father must be worshiped in
"Spirit and Truth." While truth may have many facets, honesty plays an essential role. The modern world, including Churchianity, seems unwilling or incapable of candor regarding our desperate situation. Understandably so, since such confessions hardly fill pews and/or coffers. The resulting reality is that righteousness has been replaced by situational ethics or none at all. And that with hardly a fight.

No one wants to be labeled Chicken Little, even if the sky is falling. This goes double for Christians. We say we believe, yet the average church attender has difficulty quoting 5-10 verses in a row (perhaps outside of the Lord's Prayer) and daily stops and seriously prays less than 10-15 minutes. A dire condition largely unchallenged by today's clergy. Instead we comfort ourselves assuring our Savior’s not a cup's half empty kind of Guy. Why should we worry when we've "not been given a spirit of fear?" Sure there are problems, maybe even big ones, but God’s large and in charge. His salvation and love are free gifts. There might be sin in the Church, maybe even in my life, but God's faithful even when we’re not. So what if folks are falling like flies to temptation and deception. We shouldn't let it rain on our parade. Even if the world's going to Hell in a hand-basket. If we keep our Pre-Trib Rapture card punched we're headed for Heaven before trouble or Tribulation starts. 😇😎😀

Attitudes like these oppose Scripture, undermining the Bible's simple and repeated meta-messages. Sadly, twisting the truth is so common that when it comes to
honesty, God may well be singing Billy Joel's lament by the same name:

If you search for tenderness, it isn't hard to find
You can have the love you need to live.
But if you look for truthfulness, you might just as well be blind,
It always seen to be so hard to give.

Honesty, is such a lonely word, everyone is so untrue.
Honesty, is hardly every heard, and mostly what I need from you.

I can always find someone, to say they sympathize,
If I wear my heart out on my sleeve.
But I don't want some pretty face, To tell me pretty lies.
All I want is someone to believe.

Honesty, is such a lonely word, everyone is so untrue.
Honesty, is hardly ever heard, and mostly what I need from you.

It takes courage to face unpleasant truth. Nevertheless, Christ calls believers to continue His ministry to a world at risk. Knowing that Band-Aides are insufficient to combat cancer, the Great Physician entrusts and equips the Church to carry out the sacred responsibility to provide reliable diagnosis and treatment of fatal levels of worldliness and sin. Particularly inside our own ranks:

  • “Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of the servants in his household to give them their food at the proper time?  It will be good for that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns. Truly I tell you, he will put him in charge of all his possessions. But suppose that servant is wicked and says to himself, ‘My master is staying away a long time,’  and he then begins to beat his fellow servants and to eat and drink with drunkards. The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of. He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” Matthew 24:45-51 New International Version - Emphasis QC’s
Heedless of such passages, Churchianity's gospel endeavors to be seeker, rather than truth friendly. More afraid of offending men than God, such dishonesty offers false hope and in the end does “more harm than good.” It's been observed that God, like the Devil, is in the details. Or put another way, the difference between Heaven and Hell lies in thinking well. This is one of many reasons our earthly and eternal lives deserve the utmost consideration. Modern science clearly demonstrates there's far more going on in the physical realm than meets the eye. In the same way, Scripture offers astonishing insight into the spiritual. Here again, with careful Biblical forensics we can piece together fantastic events from before the creation of our universe. The same technique reveals forces behind the scenes of events shaping life today and allows a bird's eye view of approaching prophetic fulfillment.

As noted, the Bible contains a
brief history of eternity explaining that before time an inconceivable angelic rebellion rocked Heaven. Apparently, rather than immediately rendering summary judgment against the glorious beings participating in the insurrection, God granted them a Trial in the Supreme Court of Creation. For eons the most dramatic and significant legal proceedings ever held has raged on with Satan as God's Adversary. Architect of Heaven's revolt, the once preeminent Archangel Lucifer now acts as Prosecutor. Opposing God and unfallen angels, for millennia he has stood accusing mankind “day and night.” Throughout humanity's history, Heaven's Trial has overflowed into the affairs of men with few the wiser. The Bible's Book of Revelation reveals that Satan, also known as the Devil and Dragon, will soon launch an all out offensive against Heaven! The good news is his defeat and the subsequent expulsion of he and his army from the courts of Heaven. The bad news is that he and his forces are cast to Earth where they wreak havoc and great tribulation on mankind and the Church. History shows Biblical prophecy's amazingly accurate. Including as many as a hundred predictions fulfilled by the life and death of Jesus. Furthermore, evidence for the authority of Scripture is even more compelling as predicted events take shape before our eyes, setting the stage for Revelation's dire prophesies.

Satan's present campaign against the First World remains subtle, yet frightfully effective. Christ Himself warned of the deceptive power of the Evil One, calling him the “father of lies.” Jesus contrasted Satan's nature and purpose to "steal, kill and destroy" against His own which is to bring “life, and that they may have it more abundantly." Scripture further identifies the Devil as the "prince and power or the air.” Mankind’s arch enemy, "whose minds the god of this age has blinded” having "taken them captive to do his will." Scripture repeatedly warns that in the last days vast multitudes, outside and inside the Church, would succumb to the weight of his onslaught:

  • "Don't be naive. There are difficult times ahead. As the end approaches, people are going to be self-absorbed, money-hungry, self-promoting, stuck-up, profane, contemptuous of parents, crude, coarse, dog-eat-dog, unbending, slanderers, impulsively wild, savage, cynical, treacherous, ruthless, bloated windbags, addicted to lust, and allergic to God. They'll make a show of religion, but behind the scenes they're animals. Stay clear of these people. These are the kind of people who smooth-talk themselves into the homes of unstable and needy women and take advantage of them; women who, depressed by their sinfulness, take up with every new religious fad that calls itself "truth." 2 Timothy 3:1-5 The Message

  • "But there were also lying prophets among the people then, just as there will be lying religious teachers among you. They'll smuggle in destructive divisions, pitting you against each other—biting the hand of the One who gave them a chance to have their lives back! They've put themselves on a fast downhill slide to destruction, but not before they recruit a crowd of mixed-up followers who can't tell right from wrong. They give the way of truth a bad name. They're only out for themselves. They'll say anything, anything, that sounds good to exploit you." 2 Peter 2:1-3 The Message
Sadly, the Bible's full of historic examples of Satan's success at tempting God's people and deceiving even His anointed. Time and again, the simple progressive trap of temptation, sin and death continues to be effective. All the more so in today's society where deception permeates every aspect and level of society. Worldliness, particularly the lust for pleasure and wealth, is pandemic in the modern world. Often devilishly hard to fully discern, many forms of entitlement entice a step at a time. Like the old adage of the frog slowly boiling to death, temptation may be so insidious that rather than leaping to life, billions mistake the pot for a jacuzzi.

Some of the most perilous sins remain subtle, even in the face of incredible casualty counts. For example, with a global death toll exceeding
a billion, in just over a few decades abortion's turned the womb into the most dangerous place in the world. Yet, with the killing kept quiet in clinics, history's greatest holocaust remains out of sight and out of mind. Still, Scripture warns "No one can hide from God. His eyes see everything we do. We must give an answer to God for what we have done."God is not mocked." "For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind." Keep in mind that Christians have had the power to end abortion every day, 365 days a year, for nearly half a century. Should laying down our lives or even voting prove problematic, we need only send 1% of church attenders to have a pro-family picnic in front of the entrance of abortion clinics. Such a simple and passive rescue technique could hardly be thwarted by arrests given the sheer numbers involved. Certainly not for more than a day or two. For this and other reasons, QC condemns the use of violence of any form, in regards to abortion and/or it’s providers.

Scripture reveals swollen crimson storm clouds of
justice and judgment gathered on the horizon. Even now, the shedding of such an unprecedented amount of the most innocent blood affects the prayers, communion and worship of the modern Church. And this is only the tallest peak of a Himalayan sized mountain range of sin our generation daily provides the Accuser. So much so, while it may seem too terrible to contemplate, it appears the First World Church stands in jeopardy of being the five foolish virgins Christ condemned. If that.

What Must We Do?

Thankfully, the Bible provides direction for such a time as this. Foreseeing unprecedented apathy, if not apostasy, Old Testament prophets offer advice on God's perfect formula for repentance, demonstrating how to prepare for and call the Sacred Assembly. From Jeremiah's lament and Habukkuk's complaint we learn how to cry out to God for mercy and grace. In the New Testament we have Peter's 2nd great confession, and the power of Pentecost. Not to mention the transformation of Saul to Paul to guide us. We also have Christ's great and terrible final words of encouragement and warning to Revelation's seven churches and/or church ages. Tragically, it's the last of the seven that seems to most closely resemble today’s Churchianity:

  • "Write to Laodicea, to the Angel of the church. God's Yes, the Faithful and Accurate Witness, the First of God's creation, says: 'I know you inside and out, and find little to my liking. You're not cold, you're not hot—far better to be either cold or hot! You're stale. You're stagnant. You make me want to vomit. You brag, I'm rich, I've got it made, I need nothing from anyone,' oblivious that in fact you're a pitiful, blind beggar, threadbare and homeless. Here's what I want you to do: Buy your gold from me, gold that's been through the refiner's fire. Then you'll be rich. Buy your clothes from me, clothes designed in Heaven. You've gone around half-naked long enough. And buy medicine for your eyes from me so you can see, really see. The people I love, I call to account—prod and correct and guide so that they'll live at their best. Up on your feet, then! About face! Run after God! Look at me. I stand at the door. I knock. If you hear me call and open the door, I'll come right in and sit down to supper with you. Conquerors will sit alongside me at the head table, just as I, having conquered, took the place of honor at the side of my Father. That's my gift to the conquerors! Are your ears awake? Listen. Listen to the Wind Words, the Spirit blowing through the churches.'" Revelation 3:14-22 The Message
Scriptures wealth of direction and encouragement posses a crucial question. How much do we truly care? Enough to seek God as if our lives and those of all we know and love depend on it? Are we ready to admit the deficiencies in easy believism and choose the true gospel? Will we pray the quality and quantity of prayer necessary to see the Spirit move in power? Are we prepared to study the Bible and interpret it's passages accurately? Will we put action to beliefs, avoid temptation and purpose to stand firm against resistance from friend and foe? Will we identify Christian dualism and dispel with double-mindedness? Can we agree ubiquitous levels of apathy and sin require an unprecedented revival, if not reformation? Do we care enough to count the cost, making the decision to endure hardship even to the point of persecution? Genuine gifts of God, like faith and grace, are miraculous forces for good. The man made variety, far less so. Many well meaning believers have at times inadvertently, or even willfully, moved beyond presumption to profanity; i.e. treating the holy as common. A serious and sometimes deadly mistake. For this and a myriad of reasons, it’s best to approach God with brokenness and contrition, repentance and reverent fear. Honesty is always the best policy. Frequently confessing that Omnity is the great I AM, and I am nothing great is a good start. As is creating and memorizing a strategic daily prayer that respectfully yet purposefully weaves back and forth in ever increasing levels of repentance and intercession.

Hundreds of millions of believers may well asked why such assertions against
modern Christianity should be entertained? Consider just three of a long list of reasons:

1. Biblical mandate: In a plethora of passages believers of every age are commanded by Scripture to discern, and when necessary condemn, sinful doctrine and practices. Particularly inside the church. For example:

  • “Write a letter to the leader of the church at Ephesus and tell him this: “I write to inform you of a message from him who walks among the churches and holds their leaders in his right hand. “He says to you: I know how many good things you are doing. I have watched your hard work and your patience; I know you don’t tolerate sin among your members, and you have carefully examined the claims of those who say they are apostles but aren’t. You have found out how they lie. You have patiently suffered for me without quitting.” Revelation 2:1-3 Living Bible
2. Cultural evidence: As the light of world, to the degree society plunges into darkness, the church must be examined, and when necessary, held accountable.

3. Err on side of caution: Thoughtful and considerate discussion need not, in and of itself, be alienating. Done strategically, there’s little to loose and much to gain. As a modified Pascal’s Wager might point out, better to be too careful than reckless. The Wager uses the following logic:

  • God is, or God is not. Reason cannot decide between the two alternatives.

  • A Game is being played... where heads or tails will turn up.

  • You must wager (it is not optional).

  • Let us weigh the gain and the loss in wagering that God is. Let us estimate these two chances. If you gain, you gain all; if you lose, you lose nothing.

  • Wager, then, without hesitation that He is. There is here an infinity of an infinitely happy life to gain, a chance of gain against a finite number of chances of loss, and what you stake is finite. And so our proposition is of infinite force, when there is the finite at stake in a game where there are equal risks of gain and of loss, and the infinite to gain.

  • But some cannot believe. They should endeavor then to convince themselves.
Pascal’s principle is a spiritual form of risk management suggesting it’s better to err on the side of caution. Food for thought when it comes to today’s liberal vs. conservative beliefs and/or lifestyles. Even so, beyond it’s original intent, his famous Wager is incorrect on two points. First, as has been shown, the simplest math equation possible 0 + 0 = 0 does in fact prove the existence of God. Second, salvation is a free conditional gift quantumly costing closer to everything than nothing:

  • “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.” Matthew 13:44 New King James Version

  • “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it.” Matthew 13:45 New King James Version
A few upgrades notwithstanding, Pascal’s wager offers solid reasoning. As does the Zero Infinity Principle previously mentioned. Such considerations, and many others, strongly attest to the wisdom of going the extra mile in examining and complying with, rather than downplaying or altering, Biblical mandates. As Scripture assures:

  • “If we carefully judge ourselves, we won't be punished.” 1 Corinthian 11:31 Contemporary English Version

Deeper Dive

It's estimated that globally there may be as many as a billion Protestants. With the above categories identified, it seems helpful to drill down deeper as to which of today's Christian models might be nearer the all important 1st century Biblical Christian ideal:

1. 1st Century Biblical Christianity: As the originators and recipients of Pentecost's fire and empowerment as recorded in the Book of Acts, Christ's apostles were the founders of Christianity. Authoring the New Testament letters, through them and their missionary zeal they evangelized and discipled the original Church to withstand extreme resistance and persecution. To the point of eventually bringing Rome, then the world's greatest military, political and religious power on Earth to bow its knees to Christ. Thus becoming the Divine model for Christendom throughout all ages.

2. Persecuted Church: Today's Persecuted Church continues the costly mandate and mission of the 1st century Christians. This included innumerable Third World missionaries and believers daily baring their cross while proclaiming Christ's. See Nick Ripken and Voice of the Martyrs. Far less in number, some First World Christians and activists do the same.

3. Puritan Holiness: One of the smallest subset with Christendom are those embracing extreme sanctification, at least by today's standards. Such doctrine and lifestyle is more common in impoverished nations facing far less bombardment by levels of worldliness and entitlement, temptation and deception. In the modern world, such radical discipleship witnesses to one of the main differences between cheap and costly grace. The latter being the authentic grace of God presented in Scripture. Examples include John Wesley and Hudson Taylor, Charles Finney and Smith Wigglesworth, George, Mueller and Evan Roberts, Dietrich Bonhoeffer and Jackie Pullinger, Leonard Ravenhill and David Wilkerson. Old and new world puritanism may differ, but both are radical expressions of commitment to Christ's in the face of worldly influence and onslaught, more recently exemplified in the Russian Church's costly overcoming of Communist persecution and tribulations. See Nick Ripken's Insanity of God and podcast Witness and Persecution Season 1 Episode E9 "Devious Persecution." GB also highly recommends reading the 1996 testimony of Olga, a 19 year old Russian immigrant's "Visit to the entrance of Hell."

4. Quantum Christianity: As previously mentioned, QC was developed in hope of being a better Bible bridge for billions, spanning the growing gap between 1st Century Biblical Christianity and 21st Century Modern Churchianity. With the goal of more fully equipping Prophetic Christians to walk in the Spirit in light of the vastly degrading times and season thrust upon us by the devilish geopolitical era in which we live.

5. Modern Christianity: An umbrella term, Modern Christianity represents many of the hundred plus denominations having fragmented Christianity. Many promoting various Christs and versions of Scripture. Major categories include Charismatics and Cessationists, Evangelicals and Fundamentalists, Denominational and Community Churches, Missions and Activist Organizations, Home and Small Group Fellowships. Most in keeping with at least some of Scripture's requirements for Biblical Churches and Fellowships.

6. Churchianity: Somewhat synonymous with Modern Christianity, Churchianity implies greater doctrinal and/or lifestyle error within or without the denominations previously referenced. Up to and including heretical movements. Including versions of prosperity gospels, particularly that of the Word of Faith Movement.

7. Emerging and Emergent Church: The Emerging Church seeks "the deconstruction of modern Christian worship, modern evangelism, and the nature of modern Christian community" by embracing a post modern theological fluid, thus worldly, interpretation of Scripture and church, morality and lifestyle. Featuring the development and promotion of progressive Christianity. Including rewriting some or all of the Bible.

While disagreements abound in regards to many, if not all, facets of the above Protestant models, it should be noted that 1-3 are in perfect keeping with the tenets and tenor of Scripture. Exemplifying evangelism and discipleship. Differing modestly, though not necessarily insignificantly, as to what degree certain doctrines are highlighted and
emphasized. Making these the safest bet and educated guess.

Models 5-6 embrace certain aspects of elementary truths. The
milk vs. meat of Scripture. Often prematurely assuming salvation by substituting presumption for faith and christianized worldliness for sanctification. Thus promoting half the gospel or less.

Model 4,
Quantum Christianity, is designed to promote Prophetic Christian understanding and compliance to models 2-3, with the goal of achieving original 1st century perspective and power in our 21st century Christian experience. Thus fully entering God's Rest and becoming entirely New Creations. The ultimate objective of Biblical Christianity.

Forty years of strategic service and research suggests modern Christianity’s Biblical report card looks something like this:

  • 1/3 of our teaching and preaching, prayers and worship, evangelism and discipleship are in keeping with the fuller content and context of Scripture. 👍

  • 1/3 of our teaching and preaching, prayers and worship, evangelism and discipleship are at lacking or at odds with the fuller content and context of Scripture. 😔

  • 1/3 of the most vital aspects of Scripture’s content and context are entirely missing. 😬
This goes a long way to explain why a Quantum Christian perspective, that embraces ALL aspects of Biblical truth equally and simultaneously, without over emphasizing or under emphasizing any, is so important.

Hence Jesus’s use of
“Man shall live by EVERY word that proceeded from the mouth of God.”

We all have valuable subjective experiences in our journey to know, and be known by the Lord. Still, the Bible was Authored as an
objective point of reference to be sure we don’t lose our way on our journey to maturity and perfection (both emphasized in the New Testament).

Again, this includes substituting or enlarging one or more aspect of God’s Divine attributes and nature over others. Either by reason of personal experience or denominational doctrine.

The following
silly quick video of drawing cartoon faces illustrates the point. All 10 minutes are pretty interesting and funny, but you can skip to the end if you’d like to see 20 differences of subtle changes and their effect on perceived outcomes.

When it comes to our relationship with God, we all agree various verses on His interaction with humanity begin to paint a picture of nuances between Divine
mercy and forgiveness, faithfulness and love, in light of repeated examples of His commands and warnings, holiness and judgment

It’s easy to see how the passages we choose to
emphasize and/or omit shape our perception of God’s range of emotion regarding both those outside and inside Christ’s Church.

As well as His acceptance or rejection of our thoughts and attitudes, words and deeds (or lack thereof).

In this
simple video example, the expression on God’s face are easily manipulated through even slight alterations of His eyes, ears, nose and mouth…

It’s been said God created man in His own image, and since then we’ve been returning the favor…

Limiting God in this way is an extremely common and costly mistake. Both temporally and eternally. One often accentuated by the worldview we use to read and interpret Scripture’s
meta messages.

Such errors are frequently supported by our individual current circumstance.

For example, the Bible repeatedly warns, directly and indirectly, not to confuse the praises of men with God’s anointing. His blessings as His approval. Financial and worldly freedom as His favor. Or vice versa.

QC dares to
hope against hope that while we have clearly run out of wine, as in the case of Mary's perfect intercession, through timely and appropriate brokenness and repentance, we may yet find Jesus has once again saved the best for last.

Cruise Vs. Battleship

Modern Christendom can be accurately divided into two groups. Those taught to work and play, pray and worship, fellowship and live as largely distracted civilians; and those recognizing the Bible's call to become Kingdom citizen soldiers.

While you won't find it taught in seminaries or churches, Conflict Theology is actually the underlying context of Scripture. Widely recognized for nearly two thousand years, the modern world long ago changed course, sailing far from puritanical definitions of repentance and morality, faith and discipleship, sanctification and holiness. The result has been the nearly wholesale substitution of assumed salvation for repentance, presumption for faith and inappropriate worship for sanctification.

Decades old, the increase of
temptation and deception, has resulted in a devilishly cunning strategy of incrementalism that over time has all but uprooted millennia of spiritual and sociological gains. Part and parcel of the dramatic and disastrous deterioration in the Times and Seasons in which we live, and vastly worse on the horizon. Evidence of the spirit of the Antichrist terraforming the entire planet for the beginning of Divine judgment and Great Tribulation.

Few metaphors are as crucial as that of the Cruise Vs. Battleship analogy. If Christianity’s a cruise ship, sailing merrily from here to Heaven, then certainly Christ’s
costly atonement is more than sufficient passage. The cross of Jesus is indeed all anyone could ever need. If however, Heaven and Earth are at war with fallen angels and devils, Christianity is a battleship and we must follow our Commander and Chief’s example and directives by daily shouldering our own.

Even if Christianity could be likened to a pleasure cruise, given
Churchianity’s collision course with so many modern temptations and deceptions, up to an including immorality and the blood red mountainous iceberg of abortion, in certain respects might even many well intended ministries be reduced to simply arranging deck chairs on the Titanic?

So is Christianity a cruise or gunship? We must decide. And do so quickly and carefully. Military directives and drills, cramped quarters and sea rations, would be absurd on a pleasure cruise. So too, civilian itineraries and activities, opulent suites and sumptuous banquets, would be anathema during a time of war. See GB's
Cruise Vs. Battleship Parable.

When it comes to a nearly wholesale misunderstanding and/or under appreciating of Scripture, from its basic tenants to eschatology, only the context of conflict theology can make sense pf both modern Christianity's state of woeful deception and flagrant disregard for the Bible's clear and concise commands. Including Scripture's emphasis on sanctification and the virtue of fear, the harsh sayings of Jesus and Revelation's account of Christ's judging His Church.

David Wilkerson and Leonard Ravenhill, recently lost brilliant lights within the modern Church, should both be studied and emulated. GB's Prayer of Anguish is a tribute to Wilkerson. The following are some of Ravenhill's best quotes, with links to a short and extended interview prior to his passing:

Need for Revival Video
Prayer Meetings/Revival

  • No man is greater than his prayer life. The pastor who is not praying is playing; the people who are not praying are straying. We have many organizers, but few agonizers; many players and payers, few pray-ers; many singers, few clingers; lots of pastors, few wrestlers; many fears, few tears; much fashion, little passion; many interferers, few intercessors; many writers, but few fighters. Failing here, we fail everywhere.

  • Great eagles fly alone; great lions hunt alone; great souls walk alone-alone with God. Such loneliness is hard to endure and impossible to enjoy unless God accompanied. Prophets are lone men; they walk alone, pray alone and God makes them alone.

  • If you want to be popular, preach happiness. If you want to be unpopular, preach holiness.

  • The early Church was married to poverty, prisons, and persecutions. Today, the church is married to prosperity, personality, and popularity.

  • Paul never glamorized the gospel! It is not a success, but a sacrifice! It’s not a glamorous gospel, but a bloody gospel, a gory gospel, and a sacrificial gospel!

  • 5 minutes inside eternity, and we will wish that we had sacrificed more!!! Wept more, bled more, grieved more, loved more, prayed more, given more!!!

  • If Jesus had preached the same message that ministers preach today, He would never have been crucified.

  • In the revival, God is not concerned about filling empty churches, He is concerned about filling empty hearts.

  • How can you pull down strongholds of Satan if you don’t even have the strength to turn off your TV?

  • Jesus did not come into the world to make bad men good. He came into the world to make dead men live!

  • Most Christians pray to be blessed. Few pray to be broken.

  • Prayer is not an argument with God to persuade him to move things our way, but an exercise by which we are enabled by his Spirit to move ourselves his way.

  • A man who is intimate with God will never be intimidated by men.

  • The true man of God is heartsick, grieved at the worldliness of the Church, grieved at the toleration of sin in the Church, grieved at the prayerlessness in the Church. He is disturbed that the corporate prayer of the Church no longer pulls down the strongholds of the devil.

  • Entertainment is the devil’s substitute for joy. The more joy you have in the Lord the less entertainment you need.

  • Are the things you are living for worth Christ dying for?

  • If you’re going to be a true Christian, I’ll tell you one thing amongst others: it’ll be a lonely life. It’s a narrow way and it becomes narrower and narrower and narrower.

  • You never have to advertise a fire. Everyone comes running when there’s a fire. Likewise, if your church is on fire, you will not have to advertise it. The community will already know it.

  • You know, people say that today. “I am a saved sinner.” That is like saying you are a married bachelor. That is like saying you are an honest thief or a pure harlot. you can’t be a saved sinner. You are either saved or you are a sinner. He came. “Thou shalt call his name Jesus. He shall save his people from their sins.”

  • Prayer is not a preparation for the battle; it is the battle!

  • “I’ve got The Father on my side, Jesus Christ, The Holy Spirit and 2/3 of the angels. What do you think I’m going to do? Sit down and cry?”

  • There are three persons living in each of us: the one we think we are, the one other people think we are, and the one God knows we are!

  • When there’s something in the Bible that churches don’t like, they call it ‘legalism.’

  • If Jesus came back today, he wouldn’t cleanse the temple, he’d cleanse the pulpit.

  • The tragedy is that we have too many dead men in the pulpits giving out too many dead sermons to too many dead people.

  • The world out there is not waiting for a new definition of Christianity; it’s waiting for a new demonstration of Christianity.

  • Five minutes after you die you’ll know how you should have lived.

  • If there are a million roads into hell, there’s not one road out.

  • If I was to ask you tonight if you were saved? Do you say ‘Yes, I am saved’? When? ‘Oh so and so preached, I got baptized and…’ Are you saved? What are you saved from, hell? Are you saved from bitterness? Are you saved from lust? Are you saved from cheating? Are you saved from lying? Are you saved from bad manners? Are you saved from rebellion against your parents? Come on, what are you saved from?

  • My main ambition in life is to be on the Devil’s most wanted list.

  • A popular evangelist reaches your emotions. A true prophet reaches your conscience.

  • “Tell me what time you spend alone with God… and I’ll tell you how spiritual you are.”

  • The less power a church has, the more entertainment it has.

  • The Church used to be a lifeboat rescuing the perishing. Now she is a cruise ship recruiting the promising.

  • There’s only one proof of the Holy Ghost in your life and that’s a holy life.

  • I’d rather have 10 people that want God than 10,000 people who want to play church.

  • Quit playing, start praying. Quit feasting, start fasting. Talk less with men, talk more with God. Listen less to men, listen to the words of God. Skip travel, start travail.

  • The secret of praying is praying in secret. A sinning man will stop praying, and a praying man will stop sinning.

  • Prayer is preoccupation with our needs. Praise is preoccupation with our blessings. Worship is preoccupation with GOD Himself.

  • You can have all of your doctrines right—yet still not have the presence of God.

  • How do you learn to pray? Well, how do you learn to swim? Do you sit in a chair with your feet up drinking coke learning to swim? You get down and you struggle. That’s how you learn to pray.

  • All you have to do is get in a closer walk with God and you’ll find your enemies are in your own church.

  • The church that is man-managed instead of God-governed is doomed to failure. A ministry that is college-trained but not Spirit-filled works no miracles.

  • My goal is GOD HIMSELF. Not joy, not peace, not even blessing but HIMSELF…my GOD.

  • You know, we live in a day when we are more afraid of holiness than we are of sinfulness.

  • The self-sufficient does not pray, the self-satisfied will not pray, the self-righteous cannot pray. No man is greater than his prayer life.

  • Smart men walked on the moon, daring men walked on the ocean floor, but wise men walk with God.

  • You won’t become a saint by studying your Bible; you’ll become a saint by living it.

UPDATE: Roe vs. Wade Overturned

To the joy of countless millions, on Friday 6/24/22 the landmark decision Hobbs vs. Jackson by the Supreme Court of the United States overturned Roe vs. Wade. Thus auspiciously ending 40 years of national tyranny against 60 million pre-born.

Or at lease throwing the decision to allow mothers to continue conspiring with physicians to murder the offspring within their wombs back to America's 50 individual states...

While I now live in North East Texas, years ago I spent nearly 100 Saturdays at Central California clinics warning and imploring up to twenty girls a day to spare their babies. Via public parking constraints, forced to pass near I implored, “If God gives you the gift of a child don’t let anyone harm it.”

Often alone, sometimes there would be nearly a handful of us. On a good day, one or two mothers would listen and change their minds.

On many other occasions none at all.

As in Christ's end time parable of the
Sheep and Goats, there I discovered Jesus in His smallest and most innocent form. Totally dependent for “food” and “drink,” “naked” and “in prison” in the very womb of His mother. There I watched as He was repeatedly carried, “Like a lamb to the slaughter,” into a medical clinic. A most solemn and sorrowful scenario with grave spiritual ramifications.

One repeated in Fresno alone over 50,000 times.

In over two years I don’t recall a single member of the clergy or even lay leader joining us. Though I understand the odds may have somewhat improved through the influence of 40 Days For Life.

Only a fraction of fraction of a percent of ordained ministers have served as a director of a leading pro-life organization. Far less still have had the honor and responsibility to act as a leading liaison to over a thousand churches in state wide pro-life political initiatives.

With well over thirty years in
strategic Christian service, including more than a decade of pastoral ministry and pro-life activism, the author is privileged to belong to a select fraternity. This and other articles and books represent a culmination of this experience. Using such depth perception, this commentary is intended to introduce the true nature of the challenge presented by abortion. Particularly to modern Christianity.

During California’s 2005 Prop. 73 Parent’s Right To Know initiative I produced the pro-life political DVD entitled “Protect Me…Please” to be shown in hundreds, if not thousands of churches, prior to or on election Sunday. Groundbreaking, the 3 minute video featuring post abortive laments of teenage girls, made the front page of both the LA Times and San Francisco Chronicle. Prop. 73 failed by a narrow margin.

During the subsequent Prop. 85 initiative I achieved another milestone. For the first time, four leading Protestant state denominations, the
Southern Baptists, Assemblies of God, Calvary Chapel and Foursquare, officially endorsed a political initiative. Again Parent’s Right to Know (PRK) was defeated.

Our third attempt in 2008 with Prop 4. affectionately dubbed “Sarah’s Law” failed as well. More than
political, my involvement was spiritually motivated. After having spoken to thousands of Christians across denominational lines, it was clear that far less than 1% of either clergy or laity had the vaguest notion of the scale of abortion’s true threat to either the pre-born or the Church.

As a topical Biblical commentary, Quantum Christianity was designed in recognition of the need to examine and handle truth carefully and honestly. Scriptural and otherwise. The nationalized legalization of clinical abortion, and its apparent overruling, presents a perfect case in point.

A faithful handling of the Old and New Testament requires would be students and adherents to develop
spiritual discernment on a variety of subjects crucial to Biblical Christianity. The lack of which has produced hundreds of differing denominations espousing various Christs and versions of the gospel. Tragically, many of the hopeful insights inherent in Christ's command to "Judge with righteous judgment" continue to go largely unrealized within modern Christianity.

Such is certainly the case when considering the American church's 40 year track record in regards to an appropriate response to abortion. Or more accurately, the lack thereof. Both clinically and
contraceptively.

Bear in mind that church attending Christians could have ended abortion in a single day, 365 days a year, for nearly 40 years, by simply sending 1% of our congregations to have family friendly picnics in front of every abortion
clinic in America. With thousands peacefully blocking entrances, even should there be numerous arrests, the sheer numbers involved would shut down all abortuaries in a single day. With 99% more now authentically pro-life Christians waiting for a chance to join cause.

Yet nothing could be further from the case. Then or now.

Nor have we seriously addressed the widespread use of
abortifacient contraception throughout Christendom. A topic that many, if not most, churches and even pro-life organizations know or speak little about. Most often chemical in nature, early term abortions are a result of various forms of birth control and other devices. Abortions of this kind happen before the mother is aware of her pregnancy. The exact numbers are unknown. Some estimates suggest the daily total of these types of abortions may be surprising large. In the U.S. alone perhaps between 834,000 to over 4,000,000 per year (Dr. Bobmir Kuhar, Infant Homicides Through Contraceptives Pg 27.) Lower estimates range around 100,000 to over 1,500,000 annually (Randy Alcorn: Does the Birth Control Pill Cause Abortions? How Often Does the Pill Cause Abortions?)

Thus the compelling need to rethink Jesus' directive to "Judge with righteous judgment" should be abundantly evident.

But is it? Throughout the
Hobbs vs. Jackson decision by the Supreme Court celebratory posts and podcasts, sermons and ceremonies, is there any awareness of the reality of the seriousness our situation? Or brokenhearted repentance in light of the depth of our failures?

Are any of today's joyful messages cognizant of the Bible's repeated warning that God is not mocked.

  • Do not be deceived, God is not mocked [He will not allow Himself to be ridiculed, nor treated with contempt nor allow His precepts to be scornfully set aside]; for whatever a man sows, this and this only is what he will reap. Galatians 6:7 AMP

  • For they sow the wind [in evil] And they reap the whirlwind [in disaster]. Hosea 8:7 AMP
Is our revelry tempered with the sobering fact that while abortion is currently the pinnacle sin of mankind, it's only the tip of the iceberg? One floating in a WaterWorld of immorality unleashed by the continual and increasing tsunami of the 60's sexual revolution redefining and/or eliminating traditional marriage and family.

These
devilish sociopolitical engineering undoubtedly ushered in such modern woes as career felon George Floyd's sainthood and efforts to undermine criminal justice. Antifa and BLM riots and violence. CRT and orchestrated racial tensions. C19's plandemic and goal overreach. Medical interference and harmful vaccines. Woke agenda and transgenderism. Biden's malevolent war on Ukraine and America's economy. All part of the Great Reset.

And these are just the highlights. All coordinated and choreographed by the clearly visible and menacing Iron Triangle of liberal global politics, media and corporations.

Yet even now,
modern Christianity, up to and including the vast majority of Prophetic Christians, refuses to discern the clearly repeated handwriting on the wall. And having done so, to enter the crucible of James 4's Prayer of Anguish in hopes of James 5's reconciliation to, and empowerment by, God.

Particularly the Person of the
Holy Spirit, Whom we continue to annoy and grieve, if not profane and blaspheme.

Instead, across America,
Laodicea is masquerading as Philadelphia. Lauding the Supreme Court for Hobbs vs. Jackson while the highest court in the land continues to sidestep or support all the devastating atrocities mentioned above. Many of which modern Christianity has yet to Scripturally repent of, up to and including sins of clinical and/or contraceptive abortion. In regards to commission and/or omission.

Mankind’s current pinnacle sin of abortion is spiritually quantum in a variety of ways. For example, it’s hardly just like any other sin. Even so, as with any other sin, it does require the event and process of genuine repentance. Like faith itself, honest and heartfelt repentance encompasses our entire mind, heart and will. As required by 2 Chronicles 7:14’s perfect formula for repentance.

The New Testament reiterates this principle in multiple ways. Putting the
penance in repentance, Scripture reinforces the need for a change of both attitude and action as exemplified in the old adage, “When is a thief not a thief?” The Bible’s answer is not when someone merely confesses. In and of itself a rarity these days. Not even when a thief stops stealing. That’s just an out of work thief. But rather:

  • If you are a thief, quit stealing. Instead, use your hands for good hard work, and then give generously to others in need.” Ephesians 4:28 New Living Translation

Herein lies one of several grave errors in
modern Christianity’s understanding of Biblical repentance. All too often members are bid to simply believe in the cross of Christ, with little or no discussion of practical aspects of repentance and/or restitution. Much less of His command we daily shoulder our own. As Jesus’ brother James warned in regards to living and dead faith:

  • “Do I hear you professing to believe in the one and only God, but then observe you complacently sitting back as if you had done something wonderful? That’s just great. Demons do that, but what good does it do them? Use your heads! Do you suppose for a minute that you can cut faith and works in two and not end up with a corpse on your hands?” James 2:19-20 The Message

Reflecting Scripture's overarching
context of conflict theology, a military analogy perfectly exemplifies the Bible's emphasis on the crucial 3 step process of genuine repentance:

  1. Halt: “If you are a thief, quit stealing.”

  1. About Face: “Instead, use your hands for good hard work…”

  1. March: “and then give generously to others in need.”
Before continuing to celebrate exchanging presumption for faith, in message and music, perhaps some soul serious searching would be in order. The Roe vs. Wade debacle would be a good place to start...

Update 2022

It should be abundantly clear things changed substantially in 2020. Nationally and globally, the world has never scene the like of even the following short list:

1. Covid-19 and variants, of questionable origin, mandates promoting and/or requiring untested and dangerous MRNA “vaccines” and “boosters” with negative efficacy and even deadly side effects revealing unprecedented control of healthcare and politics by the collusion of pharmaceutical companies and bureaucrats. To the point of threatening the removal of medical licenses of physicians prescribing safe and reliable treatments proven effective against respiratory and other illness. Example: In 2015 Ivermectin won the only Nobel Prize award for treatments of infectious diseases since six decades prior. Also report by Fortune Magazine (not right wing magazine) reveals that a simple  home remedy of saline solution used for "Twice Daily Nose Flushing Can Reduce Covid Hospitalization and Death Researchers Find" by 85%. This study was conducted Fall 2020, and could have helped prevent 3/4 of Covid deaths.

Since March 2020, when IVM was first used against a new global scourge, COVID-19, more than 20 randomized clinical trials (RCTs) have tracked such inpatient and outpatient treatments. Six of seven meta-analyses of IVM treatment RCTs reporting in 2021 found notable reductions in COVID-19 fatalities, with a mean 31% relative risk of mortality vs. controls. During mass IVM treatments in Peru, excess deaths fell by a mean of 74% over 30 days in its ten states with the most extensive treatments.

Our hospitals have become killing fields. From remdesivir and illegal DNR orders to denial of treatment, forced starvation, and abuse based on vaccination status, Gail experienced the horrors that hundreds of thousands of other Americans suffered in the hospitals. Except, thanks to her husband and help from state Senator Bob Hall, she wound up being forcibly extricated from the hospital after 14 days of torture (7 days no water…). Even though the doctors said she wouldn’t last a day longer, she is now perfectly healthy and is trying to raise awareness about the hospital genocide.

It’s a complete lockout…” “If you don’t get it you have your career destroyed. If you do get it you have your body destroyed. And then everything they plan on doing there on down with it. Extreme rise in prenatal death and birth defects among newborn. Cover up and collusion by. governments, health care and media industries. Great Reset agenda of elites through population reduction and control.
2. Economic and institutional, social and quarantine lockdowns crippling businesses and institutions, education and families, from the elderly to children.

3. Individual mandates and social distancing, mask and "vaccine" requirements restricting interaction, breathing and health.

4. BLM and Antifa’s spreading of widespread rioting and looting, violence and lawlessness in the name of blatantly FALSE narratives such as Critical Race Theory (CRT) and systemic police brutality. Both undermining the foundations of society by “calling good evil and evil good.” All the while elevating career felons like George Floyd to sainthood status while ignoring the plague of black on black violence and murder, particularly within liberally controlled inner cities like the Obama’s Chicago.

5. Campaigns of disinformation and destruction by the emerging Iron Triangle of liberal governments, legacy media and global corporations influencing and poisoning the hearts and minds of billions.
  • Sample Link: **Crimes or Cover Up** Glen Beck Exposing The Worlds Most Dangerous Lie:  History of C19 conspiracy with dates and facts.

6. Wokism’s ridiculous and dangerous plandemic of social engineering’s impact on lower and higher education, spread by the super carriers mentioned above.

7. The impact of Transgenderism’s incoherent and devilish reversal of truth and goodness on genuine science and health care, parenting and morality, teens and children

8. Political attack on democracy, particularly in the U.S. by media bias and censorship, election fraud, registration tampering.

9. Drug cartel control of southern border unleashing illegal alien invasion of 2 million immigrants in 2022. Horrifying abuse, violence and death of women and children, sick and elderly by the most outrageous smugglers and traffickers in American history enabled by Biden administration, democratic policy and republican controlled opposition. On national and state level. Immigrants extorted $10-50,000 by cartels to allow illegal crossing into US.

10. Drug cartel designer drug epidemic and death rate. Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that is up to 50 times stronger than heroin and 100 times stronger than morphine. Carfentanil is a synthetic opioid approximately 10,000 times more potent than morphine and 100 times more potent than fentanyl. The U.S. government does not track death rates for every drug. However, the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention collects information on deaths involving many of the more commonly used drugs. Nearly 92,000 persons in the U.S. died from drug-involved overdose in 2020, including illicit drugs and prescription opioids. Up from less than 20,000 in 1999. Thats a 350% increase in 2020 with higher rates in 2022..

11. Escalation of US violent and property crime rates. Current odds are 1/178 that an American resident will be murdered during their lifetime.
