Quantum Christianity
Introduction Volume 1 & 2
by Robert R. Pennington

Science clearly reveals there's more to the physical universe than what meets the eye. While Newtonian physics does a fine job explaining much of the composition and behavior of large bodies, it falls short when it comes to many of the most powerful forces governing our Universe. Quantum mechanics in needed. For our purpose the term Quantum describes a mental tool used to reconcile seemingly opposite and irreconcilable concepts (particularly as pertaining to God and creation) without diminishing one, the other or both.

Biblical Christianity provides amazing insights into the spiritual. Scripture offers revelations and prophecies transcending time, space and matter as well as life and death. Just as the scientific study of physics and cosmology, biology and chemistry requires great discipline and resource, so too understanding scripture merits our best efforts. Recognizing the potential of excellent research, humanities best and brightest have made astounding discoveries, catalogued the invisible and unlocked mysteries for the benefit of mankind. In the same way the study of God and man, angels and demons as well as time and eternity requires honesty and discipline.

Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble.

- 2 Peter 1:10 NKJV

Life's Ultimate Questions

The Bible addresses modern life's ultimate questions. The existence and nature of the Creator. The origin and meaning of creation. The role and destiny of man. The kingdom of God on Earth. The existence of Heaven and Hell. Angels and demons....

Scripture is also full of insight into the human condition. Its pages contain the blueprints for living. Its passages define right and wrong, wisdom and folly, life and death. Each word, like the atoms of our bodies, fit and work together. Each verse, like molecules, render service. Each Book, like our organs, perform a function. Every theme, like our senses, are designed to offer us "life and more abundantly."

The Hitch

Sounds great! So why is the world in such a mess? Interestingly, the Bible provides clear answers to this question yet few today know or believe them. Quantum Christianity was designed to explore the reasons for this.

Foremost among them is Biblical illiteracy. The best selling Book of all time may rank among the most misunderstood. With over 38,000 identified Christian denominations clearly there are many disagreements as to the message and meaning of scripture. Moreover, even the most basic Biblical warnings and commands often go unheeded by even those espousing them.

Ironically, part of the confusion is a result of how the Bible was written. While
vast evidence exists attesting to scriptures Divine inspiration, the manner of its communication can be confusing. Unlike modern educational or self help publications, the Bible has few if any clear and concise Books on individual subjects. Rather, its wisdom is scattered through 66 Old and New Testament Books written by over 40 authors over a period spanning the better part of two millennia. Spread throughout the Bible's 1,189 chapters are 31,101 verses containing 783,137 words. Imparted through these are 1,260 promises, 6,468 commands and over 2,500 predictions...

Another Challenge

Adding to the challenge of correctly understanding and applying the message of Scripture are difficult and even seemingly contradictory passages. Many of these have inspired emotionally charged philosophies and doctrines that make factual and friendly discussion problematic.

Doing justice to Biblical passages and topics requires the kind of "mental tools" QC was designed to provide.  These include:

1. Reverence enough to let Scripture say what it means and mean what it says.

2. Faith enough to energize one's imagination without going off the deep end.

3. Curiosity enough to examine epic verses and poke around original languages.

4. Humility enough to remember who your betters are.

5. Honesty enough to recognize and respond to our extreme need for God.

6. Desperation enough to ask, seek and knock until insight is given.

7. Love enough to find ways to reveal, rather than conceal, even difficult truths.
