Why Does God Allow Abortion?

Simply put, there is nothing like abortion. Our single generation has silently turned the womb into the most dangerous place on Earth through the premeditated murder of over a billion pre-born.

In quantity alone, slaughtering 5-10 times the Earth’s entire population in Christ’s day qualifies abortion as the pinnacle sin of mankind!
This raises two salient questions: (1) Why does God allow abortion? (2) Why do we?

Or perhaps you despise his great kindness, tolerance, and patience. Surely you know that God is kind, because he is trying to lead you to repent.

- Romans 2:4 GNT

Since ordination over three decades ago a parade of questions about God have come along. From humorous to serious, they're all great food for thought. Here are a few examples:

1. Can God create an area too large for Him to fill?

2. Can God create a puzzle too difficult for Him to solve?

3. Can God create a rock too heavy for Him to lift?

Many of us are familiar with these. However one important question that is rarely asked, "Why does God allow abortion?" With a death toll from
clinical abortion exceeding one billion worldwide - 5 times the causality count of World War II, not to mention the ghastly specter of abortifacients which could easily double that figure - it’s a question worthy of consideration.

Historically, in the face of far less devastating losses, victims and their family’s have cried out for understanding and justice. Today,
abortion's victims are silenced before they can speak and their family’s protests are gagged by ignorance and guilt. Women and society at large are devilishly deceived while institutions designed to protect and serve are undermined by spiritual corruption. Tragically, these sobering facts extend throughout most of Christendom.

So come, let us reason together. Why does God allow abortion? One of the following seems necessarily true:

1. God is unable to end abortion.

2. God is unwilling to end abortion.

3. While able and willing, God chooses not to end abortion at this time.

Is God unable to end abortion?

Most pop and systematic theology, implicitly or explicitly suggests that the
Creator and Sustainer of time and eternity, once having gifted humanity with free will (at nearly infinite cost to Himself), is now unable to overrule sin, including "pro-choice's" anti-life agenda. Yet the Scriptures and simple reason agree such an answer violates the very nature of God.

Upon closer look, our question is just a variation on the theme, "Can God create a rock too heavy for Him to lift?" The answer is no, both in the spiritual and physical realms.

A. Spiritually speaking, God shouldered the immense boulder of both original and modern sin - the choice of men and angels to misuse our extremely limited free will - when He lifted Christ upon His Cross:

  • When you were stuck in your old sin-dead life, you were incapable of responding to God. God brought you alive—right along with Christ! Think of it! All sins forgiven, the slate wiped clean, that old arrest warrant canceled and nailed to Christ’s cross. He stripped all the spiritual tyrants in the universe of their sham authority at the Cross and marched them naked through the streets." Colossians 2:14-15 The Message
Jesus, our atoning lamb slain from the foundation of the world, vindicates God's plan to grant humanity limited choice, knowing we would often choose evil. Christ’s incarnation and ministry, costly atonement and resurrection, ascension and intercession, second advent and millennial reign all reveal the justice of God's "Omnity" (omniscience, omnipotence, omnipresence, and immutability). Such Divine strategy demonstrates God’s infinitely sovereign, capable of managing and redeeming fallen mankind while simultaneously righting the history of eternity by putting an end to Lucifer’s angelic rebellion and it’s heavenly and earthly aftermath.

B. Physically orchestrating an end to abortion, or even preventing it’s inception, would be less difficult for Omnity than a human scientist directing rats in a maze. And that by an infinite order of magnitude. Consider our universe’s hundreds of fine tuning parameters (over one part in a quadrillion quadrillion quadrillion quadrillion) being discovered. Even allowing for the impossibility of creation creating itself without a Creator as illustrated by 0+0=0, the odds of naturalistic selection alone producing advanced life on earth is 10 to the 24 millionth power (10 X 24 zeros). In layman's terms it's like an individual winning the California lottery 3 million times playing a single ticket in each drawing.

Surely an eternal Being of infinite knowledge and power would have little or no problem directing the actions of frail and mortal mankind. Thus the answer as to why God allows abortion is clearly not the inability to end it, as He most certainly will.

Is God unwilling to end abortion?

So why should our
glorious Creator and Savior allow abortion's slaughter of a billion innocent’s in a single generation? While the answer is multifaceted, mercy may provide an excellent starting point. Divine mercy, secured by Christ's blood, which speaks better things than the blood of Abel (or, in our case, a billion Abel’s). Together with Divine patience and restraint, Omnity’s mercy temporarily extends forgiveness and healing, wholeness and the free conditional gift of eternal life to even a culture hellbent on death.

Yet, even as the manna that freely rained from heaven could be wasted, mercy spoils if misused:

  • Don’t be misled: No one makes a fool of God. What a person plants, he will harvest. The person who plants selfishness, ignoring the needs of others—ignoring God!—harvests a crop of weeds. All he’ll have to show for his life is weeds! But the one who plants in response to God, letting God’s Spirit do the growth work in him, harvests a crop of real life, eternal life." Galatians 6:7-8 The Message

  • “Or did you think that because he’s such a nice God, he’d let you off the hook? Better think this one through from the beginning. God is kind, but he’s not soft. In kindness he takes us firmly by the hand and leads us into a radical life-change. You’re not getting by with anything. Every refusal and avoidance of God adds fuel to the fire. The day is coming when it’s going to blaze hot and high, God’s fiery and righteous judgment. Make no mistake: In the end you get what’s coming to you—Real Life for those who work on God’s side, but to those who insist on getting their own way and take the path of least resistance, Fire!” Romans 2:4-8 The Message
Jesus’ explanation is even more poignant. Particularly when seen from the eyes of the aborted:

  • He told another story. “God’s kingdom is like a farmer who planted good seed in his field. That night, while his hired men were asleep, his enemy sowed thistles all through the wheat and slipped away before dawn. When the first green shoots appeared and the grain began to form, the thistles showed up, too. The farmhands came to the farmer and said, ‘Master, that was clean seed you planted, wasn’t it? Where did these thistles come from?’ “He answered, ‘Some enemy did this.’ “The farmhands asked, ‘Should we weed out the thistles?’ “He said, ‘No, if you weed the thistles, you’ll pull up the wheat, too. Let them grow together until harvest time. Then I’ll instruct the harvesters to pull up the thistles and tie them in bundles for the fire, then gather the wheat and put it in the barn… Jesus dismissed the congregation and went into the house. His disciples came in and said, “Explain to us that story of the thistles in the field.” So he explained. “The farmer who sows the pure seed is the Son of Man. The field is the world, the pure seeds are subjects of the kingdom, the thistles are subjects of the Devil, and the enemy who sows them is the Devil. The harvest is the end of the age, the curtain of history. The harvest hands are angels. The picture of thistles pulled up and burned is a scene from the final act. The Son of Man will send his angels, weed out the thistles from his kingdom, pitch them in the trash, and be done with them. They are going to complain to high heaven, but nobody is going to listen. At the same time, ripe, holy lives will mature and adorn the kingdom of their Father. Are you listening to this? Really listening?” Matthew 13: 24-30, 36-43 The Message
Another reason God doesn’t forcibly end abortion immediately can be seen in the New Testament principal of self sufficiency. In one of the gospels most compelling stories, the disciples, many experienced seamen, are tempest tossed by a storm and in fear of drowning as Jesus sleeps soundly, no doubt soaked on a wet blanket. Waking the Lord with a start they cry “Don’t you care we are perishing?” Jesus first rebukes the wind and waves, and then His doubtful disciples, as if expecting them to have done so themselves.

Again, prior to the miracle of feeding the five thousand Jesus commands “You feed them” with only five loaves and two fish. Here again Christ is modeling the kind of compassion and supernatural response to human need that would latter become the hallmark of the Book of the Acts of the Apostles.
The reality is that while abortion is filing the granaries of heaven with billions of children who never knew worldly temptation and sin, Christ could and would end the barbaric practice in a single day if His body, the church, would simple become authentically pro-life. A rebellious act of Satanic deception for which we shall all give account when Jesus judges His church:

  • If you fall to pieces in a crisis, there wasn’t much to you in the first place. Rescue the perishing; don’t hesitate to step in and help. If you say, “Hey, that’s none of my business,” will that get you off the hook? Someone is watching you closely, you know—Someone not impressed with weak excuses.” Proverbs 24:10-12 The Message

  • For we must all appear and be revealed as we are before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive [his pay] according to what he has done in the body, whether good or evil [considering what his purpose and motive have been, and what he has achieved, been busy with, and given himself and his attention to accomplishing]. Therefore, being conscious of fearing the Lord with respect and reverence, we seek to win people over [to persuade them].” 2 Corinthians 5:10-11 Amplified Bible
Unfortunately, particularly in regards to abortion, Churchianity seems completely off page. Unlike Revelation’s Church of Philadelphia (which literally translates “the Church that Loves the Womb) modern Christianity more resembles clueless Laodicea.

Christians have refused to use their God given power to end abortion in a single day, 3
65 days a year for four decades and counting by simply unifying and sending 1% of our members to picnic in front of the entrance of abortion clinics. In most major cities this would mean thousands of believers celebrating life. Such overwhelming numbers could hardly be arrested, certainly not more than once or twice.

If able and willing, why does God choose not to end abortion at this time?

Ironically, logic and the New Testament principal of self sufficiency suggests that having failed to avail ourselves of such an obvious strategy to end abortion, God is as likely to do it for us as Jesus would have been to multiply the loaves and fish if each of the five thousand already had pockets stuffed with them. At least until
Omnity feels modern society is ripened for justice and judgment.

The hope and prayer of pro-life people everywhere is a
global repentance along the lines of 2 Chronicles 7:14. As Nineveh embraced Jonah's warning, so America and indeed the world should heed the Bible’s prophetic advice, call for a sacred assembly and receive the Gospel of Life.

Historically, however, Nineveh's response is rare and fleeting. This unfortunate fact, in light of the tremendous weight of Scripture condemning the brutalizing of the weak and shedding of innocent blood, leads us to only one of two plausible conclusions:

1. Our aborting of more than a billion of our children is the pinnacle sin of mankind and will bring God's final judgment.

2. Our aborting a billion of our children is the seed from which a sin of far greater magnitude will grow.

From Genesis to Revelation the Bible is replete with warnings and examples that God will not be mocked, that whatever an individual or culture sow shall be reaped. Hosea is even more bold declaring, "They sow the wind, And reap the whirlwind."

Abortion's Mutation?

Scripture clearly confirms what we all know, that once planted, even an tiny seed, if not uprooted, will grow into a towering tree. It is inevitable that without an unprecedented global
repentance, if not reformation, we shall reap either apocalyptic judgment or a new magnitude of sin that will reduce the death of a billion babies to mere seed.

What could possibly eclipse the aborting of one third or more of the world's children? One answer, growing more plausible daily is the abortion of our humanity itself. Technology's skeleton key is unlocking the very secrets of creation. Analysts expect some technologies to multiply a million trillion times over the next few decades. Should these unbelievable yet demonstrably conservative projections prove even remotely accurate, today will have become the stone age of technology! If cloning is within our grasp now what will be within our reach with the near future?

The Scriptures agree with the proverb "History repeats itself." Mankind's first few pages of history record a tower called Babel that concerned God Himself:

  • And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built. And the Lord said, Behold, they are one people and they have all one language; and this is only the beginning of what they will do, and now nothing they have imagined they can do will be impossible for them.” Genesis 11:5-6 Amplified Bible

Historically Today's technology, not to mention tomorrow's, may well fulfill God's prediction, "now nothing they have imagined they can do will be impossible for them.”

In January of 2004 Christianity Today ran a cover article entitled “
The Techno Sapiens Are Coming.” While somewhat ahead of it’s time, even this article hardly conceived of the more cataclysmic Techno-Singularity that may well be on the horizon. The premise is that given the law of accelerated returns the merger of technology and humanity is near. Combine increasing computer speeds and decreasing size, not to mention a host of possible if not likely technological leaps such as quantum computing and a possible “virtual omnity” may move from science fiction to a fact of life.

Yet not even these forward thinking theories conceive the role global abortion may play in augmenting if not supplanting humanity with technology, spiritually altering mankind after having summoned the
Antichrist who creates and imposes the Mark of the Beast. Once inconceivable, the possibility of an imbedded chip not only used in buying and selling but in working “lying signs and wonders” may be just the enticement needed to repeat Eve’s garden temptation “you shall be as gods” on a global scale:

  • The Anarchist’s coming is all Satan’s work. All his power and signs and miracles are fake, evil sleight of hand that plays to the gallery of those who hate the truth that could save them. And since they’re so obsessed with evil, God rubs their noses in it—gives them what they want. Since they refuse to trust truth, they’re banished to their chosen world of lies and illusions.” 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12 The Message

  • I saw another Beast rising out of the ground. It had two horns like a lamb but sounded like a dragon when it spoke. It was a puppet of the first Beast, made earth and everyone in it worship the first Beast, which had been healed of its deathblow. This second Beast worked magical signs, dazzling people by making fire come down from Heaven. It used the magic it got from the Beast to dupe earth dwellers, getting them to make an image of the Beast that received the deathblow and lived. It was able to animate the image of the Beast so that it talked, and then arrange that anyone not worshiping the Beast would be killed. It forced all people, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to have a mark on the right hand or forehead. Without the mark of the name of the Beast or the number of its name, it was impossible to buy or sell anything. Solve a riddle: Put your heads together and figure out the meaning of the number of the Beast. It’s a human number: 666.” Revelation 13:11-18 The Message

  • A third Angel followed, shouting, warning, “If anyone worships the Beast and its image and takes the mark on forehead or hand, that person will drink the wine of God’s wrath, prepared unmixed in his chalice of anger, and suffer torment from fire and brimstone in the presence of Holy Angels, in the presence of the Lamb. Smoke from their torment will rise age after age. No respite for those who worship the Beast and its image, who take the mark of its name.” Meanwhile, the saints stand passionately patient, keeping God’s commands, staying faithful to Jesus. I heard a voice out of Heaven, “Write this: Blessed are those who die in the Master from now on; how blessed to die that way! Yes,” says the Spirit, “and blessed rest from their hard, hard work. None of what they’ve done is wasted; God blesses them for it all in the end.” Revelation 14:9-13 The Message
From heavens perspective, might the abortion of mankind, along with Revelation’s other great and terrible woes, be a tragic yet fitting end to a world having waged war against the womb?

All Babies Go To Heaven!

Sadly there are those who claim the pre-born are not persons at all but merely clumps of cells, inviable tissue masses or even tumors to be discarded at will. While technically true from a certain perspective, might God not say the same about us? What God has said can be understood by even children as summed up by the esteemed Dr. Sues who points out “A person is a person no matter how small.”

In the Old Testament one place this is demonstrated is regards to the innocent baby conceived by David’s corruption of Bathsheba prior to the betrayal and murder of her husband Uriah the Hittite. As a small part of God’s judgment against the outrageous sin of the “
Lord’s anointed” the baby was destined for death. Yet in David’s mind there was no question that he would one day meet his pre-born child, clearly begotten in iniquity, in heaven:

  • One late afternoon, David got up from taking his nap and was strolling on the roof of the palace. From his vantage point on the roof he saw a woman bathing. The woman was stunningly beautiful. David sent to ask about her, and was told, “Isn’t this Bathsheba, daughter of Eliam and wife of Uriah the Hittite?” David sent his agents to get her. After she arrived, he went to bed with her. (This occurred during the time of “purification” following her period.) Then she returned home. Before long she realized she was pregnant.” 2 Samuel 11:2-5 The Message

  • Then David confessed to Nathan, “I’ve sinned against God.” Nathan pronounced, “Yes, but that’s not the last word. God forgives your sin. You won’t die for it. But because of your blasphemous behavior, the son born to you will die.” After Nathan went home, God afflicted the child that Uriah’s wife bore to David, and he came down sick. David prayed desperately to God for the little boy. He fasted, wouldn’t go out, and slept on the floor. The elders in his family came in and tried to get him off the floor, but he wouldn’t budge. Nor could they get him to eat anything. On the seventh day the child died. David’s servants were afraid to tell him. They said, “What do we do now? While the child was living he wouldn’t listen to a word we said. Now, with the child dead, if we speak to him there’s no telling what he’ll do… His servants asked him, “What’s going on with you? While the child was alive you fasted and wept and stayed up all night. Now that he’s dead, you get up and eat. While the child was alive,” he said, “I fasted and wept, thinking God might have mercy on me and the child would live. But now that he’s dead, why fast? Can I bring him back now? I can go to him, but he can’t come to me.” 2 Samuel 12:13-18, 21-23 The Message
While the pre-born baby was clearly innocent, what few realize is the full extent of David’s horrifying betrayal. Though he already had multiple wives and could have married any and as many Israelite virgins he chose, instead he was moved to pick a woman who was far more than just the wife of some unknown soldier. According to 1 Chronicles 11, this same "Uriah the Hittite" was one of David's mighty men and elite personal guard. Furthermore, we are told Bathsheba was the daughter of Eliam, another decorated soldier. Worse, she was also the granddaughter of Ahithophel, perhaps David's wisest counselor, of whom scripture says his advice was like listening to "the oracle of God." In fact, the reason David could see Bathsheba bathing from his rooftop was because of the honored positions held by her faithful and loyal husband, father and grandfather!
David’s inconceivable sin that produced this child then escalated in his orchestrating the murder of Uriah, Bathsheba’s true and faithful husband, while she was pregnant with the baby. Taken together, this Shakespearean tragedy would set in motion terrible future events including the following:

1. The rape of David’s daughter by her half brother.

2. The eventual murder of the rapist by David’s favored son Absalom.

3. Absalom’s rebellious treason forcing David’s exile from Jerusalem.

4. Absalom following Ahithophel’s advice to have sex with David’s concubines on the palace roof (where David had lusted for Bathsheba).

5. Ahithophel’s suicide.

6. Absalom’s army’s defeat and his death.

7. David’s life work, the unification and holiness of Israel, torn in two by his foolishness and sin and those of his sons, grandsons and heirs.

With so few Old Testament references to the afterlife, it may be that the drama and trauma of this event is used to highlight the merciful fact that regardless of sin surrounding conception, God so identifies with the needy and helpless that when it comes to children Jesus assures, “
…for such is the kingdom of heaven.”

For a more direct New Testament example consider the first authentic charismatic meeting in the New Testament. Note
all four participants:

  • Mary didn’t waste a minute. She got up and traveled to a town in Judah in the hill country, straight to Zachariah’s house, and greeted Elizabeth. When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby in her womb leaped. She was filled with the Holy Spirit, and sang out exuberantly, “You’re so blessed among women, and the babe in your womb, also blessed! And why am I so blessed that the mother of my Lord visits me? The moment the sound of your greeting entered my ears, The babe in my womb skipped like a lamb for sheer joy. Blessed woman, who believed what God said, believed every word would come true!” Luke 1:39-45 The Message
No clump of cells here. Rather three times Christ, a thumb sized embryo and John, a fist sized fetus are identified as babies as both the pre-born and their mothers were unusually filled with and sensitive to the Holy Spirit! One wonders if Scripture records this odd and auspicious event primarily as witness against such as we, the first generation permitted to view first hand the wonders of life in the womb while simultaneously declaring war against it.

It’s been noted that while we each have a point of view God alone has View. When it comes to eternity, a subject of
infinite importance to each of us, this is doubly true. According to the World Almanac, 34% of the world favored "Christianity" above other religious beliefs in a census. In America 87% preferred Christianity. Unfortunately, with only 10% even attending church regularly, it's likely that 87% is a highly inflated figure when it comes to those serving Christ as Lord and Savior. Globally, 10% may be more accurate. Such a figure suggests that today 9 of 10 adults who die perish for eternity! With nearly a death each second on Earth, 120,000 daily, the eternal tally sounds something like the following: Hell, hell, hell, hell, hell, hell, hell, hell, hell, heaven... 60 times a minute, 60 minutes an hour, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week...billions perishing for eternity. Spiritually, this is far more than genocide, this is humanicide!

Perhaps the most salient reason for God to allow abortion to continue is the filling of heaven with billions of children forever safe from the earth’s spiritual kill zone. In fact, combined with natural spontaneous abortion and other causes of childhood mortality, Jesus may well have been speaking both figuratively and literally when discussing the secure place of children in the Kingdom of Heaven:

  • People were also bringing babies to Jesus for him to place his hands on them. When the disciples saw this, they rebuked them. But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” Luke 18:15-16 NIV

  • “Beware that you do not despise or feel scornful toward or think little of one of these little ones, for I tell you that in heaven their angels always are in the presence of and look upon the face of My Father Who is in heaven.” Matthew: 18:10 NIV

  • “If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them if a large millstone were hung around their neck and they were thrown into the sea.” Mark 9:42 AMP
Of course this raises the question if in fact all children go to heaven. While the Bible does not say so directly, thankfully the indirect evidence is overwhelming. Keep in mind the Bible also does not contain the word “Trinity” even though it is Christianity’s most distinguishing doctrine. Also, Jesus used a verb tense to answer the Sadducees concern regarding the reality of an eternal afterlife.

The following are just a few of the more obvious indicators that indeed all children, particularly those
martyred within in the womb, go to heaven. Such assurity is even more certain when remembering all human life is sacred, from the moment of conception:

1. All verses regarding God’s love

2. All verses regarding God’s mercy

3. All verses regarding God’s faithfulness

4. All verses regarding the uniquely status and protection of children

5. All verses regarding God’s identification with the poor

6. All verses regarding God’s identification with the needy.

7. All verses regarding God’s protection

8. All verses regarding God’s justice (For examples see 150 Pro-Life verses)

Some will still object to the concept that all babies go to heaven on the grounds of a misunderstanding of such doctrines as election and
eternal security. These, often modern Calvinists, suggest that only those with a kind of “God chip” comprise the elect that will ever see heaven. While Scripture certainly teaches that God possesses foreknowledge, this does not directly equate with determinism.

As for election, there are indeed a handful of passages reinforcing the concept that must be
quantumly reconciled with the far more numerous passages reinforcing the gracious offer of salvation for everyone willing to receive the free yet conditional gift of eternal life offered by the costly atonement of Christ. This is done by keeping His commands, particularly to “love one another” which clearly includes pre-born babes in the womb. Seeing all Scripture is “God breathed” and “cannot be broken” such reconciliation must be done utilizing the standard 7 rules of Biblical interpretation as well as QC's Rule of Emphasis.

Astonishingly, after decades of actively and passively participating in the pinnacle sin of abortion there remains a nearly universal shortsightedness, if not blindness, regarding it’s present and future impact on every aspect of human life. So much so that turning the womb into the most dangerous place on earth may be the final nail in the coffin ushering in the end times and what Scripture describes as “the times of the Gentiles.”

  • When you see Jerusalem being surrounded by armies, you will know that its desolation is near. Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those in the city get out, and let those in the country not enter the city. For this is the time of punishment in fulfillment of all that has been written. How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! There will be great distress in the land and wrath against this people. They will fall by the sword and will be taken as prisoners to all the nations. Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.” Luke 21:20-24 NIV

  • For if God did not spare the natural branches (Jews), He may not spare you (Gentiles) either. Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off.  And they also, if they do not continue in unbelief, will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again. For if you were cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, who are natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree? For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.” Romans 11:21-25 NKJV
In this case, the fullness of the Gentiles certainly does not mean an erroneous Pre-Tribualtion Rapture which is never taught in Scripture. Rather it not only means the vast majority of authentically saved and sanctified non-Jewish believers have come to Jesus but also the overflowing of selfishness and sin, certainly including the abortion of over a billion of Christ’s “least brothers.” This principal appears in Scripture numerous times, including reasons for the judgment and destruction of first the Amorites and then Sodom:

  • As the sun was setting, Abram fell into a deep sleep, and a thick and dreadful darkness came over him. Then the Lord said to him, “Know for certain that for four hundred years your descendants will be strangers in a country not their own and that they will be enslaved and mistreated there. But I will punish the nation they serve as slaves, and afterward they will come out with great possessions. You, however, will go to your ancestors in peace and be buried at a good old age. In the fourth generation your descendants will come back here, for the sin of the Amorites has not yet reached its full measure.” Genesis 15:12-16 NIV

  • God continued, “The cries of the victims in Sodom and Gomorrah are deafening; the sin of those cities is immense. I’m going down to see for myself, see if what they’re doing is as bad as it sounds. Then I’ll know.” Genesis 18:20 The Message
One can only wonder what the outcry of over a billion aborted, 5-10 times the population of earth in Christ’s day, sounds like in the ears of their Creator and Savior?

The patience and
goodness of God is “meant to lead us to repentance” not apathy or religious excuses. This includes 21st century Christianity, the apathy and entitlement, lack of sanctification and discipleship of which has no doubt reached heaven. In fact, one could hardly imagine a more customized virus than abortion, targeted to pass nearly undetected through the firewalls of Churchianity while simultaneously wreaking havoc with our most critical systems from prayer and worship to salvation itself!

Today, let us embrace the
Gospel of Life, sowing repentance before it's too late. Let us humble our hard hearts before the Lord that His mercy may lift us up. Like the worshiper who anointed Christ with her costly perfume and tears, let's serve the least of His brethren, the pre-born, the infirm, and the elderly, as would Jesus, with our best. We, who need so much forgiveness, should love fervently, making the most of every opportunity, remembering "God made him who had no sin to be sin for us so that in him we might become the righteousness of God."
