Approaching God One Thought At A Time

Men do not decide their future. They decide their habits and their habits decide their future.

Prophetic Christians

Prophetic Christians are serious Bible students and intercessors, believers who seek God in faith confident that He's said what He means and means what He's said.  They're persuaded God is "the same yesterday, today and forever."  Possessed of deep and abiding repentance, they labor for revival in the hope and fear of God.

Understanding both "the
love and terror of the Lord" they endeavor to "persuade men" to choose life rather than death. Knowing they too are sinners, they treat others as they would be treated: firm, fair, factual and friendly.  They compel the lost, including apathetic and disobedient Christians within Churchianity, to come into the Kingdom by first speaking the truth in love. Should compassion fail, they spend themselves and their lives pulling lost humanity from "the fire."

Then Jesus turned to the Jews who had claimed to believe in him. “If you stick with this, living out what I tell you, you are my disciples for sure. Then you will experience for yourselves the truth, and the truth will free you.

- John 8:31-32 MSG

Prophetic Christians

Hundreds Even among the studious of the church few are aware that at this very moment the lives of all of humanity, and particularly those of Christians, are being tried in Creation's Supreme Court. For millennia, if not from before the creation of our universe, God the Father has presided over Heaven's High Court. Since Christ's ascension He's been our advocate or defense attorney as Satan, the Devil, accuses mankind day and night. Furthermore, according the Bible's final Book of Revelation, the Trial of Eternity will soon and suddenly turn into armed angelic conflict. Michael and his angels will defeat the Dragon and his angels, casting the rebellion out of Heaven and down onto Earth. Furious, Satan gives the Antichrist authority to rule Earth and make war against the saints before the Rapture in the midst of the Great Tribulation period.

It's been suggested that history repeats itself like a hawk rising in ever increasing circles. Today, more even than in days gone by, we stand in the eye of a storm about to hit with unprecedented gale force. A prophesied hurricane of fire and judgment of such magnitude draws near that all of Christendom should be crying out to God as Christ did and counsels us to do:

  • "Who, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His godly fear" Hebrews 5:7

  • “Watch out! Don’t let your hearts be dulled by carousing and drunkenness, and by the worries of this life. Don’t let that day catch you unaware, like a trap. For that day will come upon everyone living on the earth. Keep alert at all times. And pray that you might be strong enough to escape these coming horrors and stand before the Son of Man.” Luke 21:34-36

  • "But you, dear friends, carefully build yourselves up in this most holy faith by praying in the Holy Spirit, staying right at the center of God's love, keeping your arms open and outstretched, ready for the mercy of our Master, Jesus Christ. This is the unending life, the real life! Go easy on those who hesitate in the faith. Go after those who take the wrong way. Be tender with sinners, but not soft on sin. The sin itself stinks to high heaven."  Jude 1:20-23  MSG

Many modern believers feel confident they themselves are beyond reproach. Some would go so far as to say that God's Church is above being deceived. Yet this was hardly the case even with such powerfully anointed men as Samson and David. Additionally, with the lifestyles of even church attending Christian being nearly identical to unbelievers, we would seem to be "storing up wrath against the day of wrath."  Yet how few there are truly Biblically righteous.  Fewer still, who like Lot, allow their souls to be tormented day and night by the lawless deeds around them. And finally, among the remnant of the remnant of Churchianity, there seems to be a lot of Lots and fearfully few Abrahams. Truly an unfortunate fact for all our sakes.

Prophetic Christians are desperately needed today to meet the rising challenges set before us. It's high time we begin to
seek God for holiness, power and commitment to be the Church rather than simply attend. Let us cry out for the gift of unprecedented repentance to soften our hard hearts in hopes of receiving a New Pentecost. Together let us tarry until we are transformed into the kind of Kingdom soldiers who can fulfill Christ's Great Commission, being filled with the fruit and gifts of the Spirit, particularly that of healing the sick, performing signs and wonders and even the kind of "mustard seed faith" Jesus promised those who truly believe!
